My go-to accessory for concerts? Worn-in tshirts that can be made at home!

As a recent college graduate, I am the queen of tshirts. To be honest, I probably have about fifty tshirts that I have held on to over the years. My favorite tshirts are the ones that I have had since my freshman year of high school that now have thin material and are super soft. My least favorite shirts, are the scratchy ones that feels like their suffocating your upper body because there is no stretch in the fabric. After remodeling my closet a couple of weeks ago I decided that I needed to either put these shirts to use or get rid of them. I decided that if I could make them feel more worn-in I would keep them!

How to make a shirt β€œworn-in” soft

1. First pick a shirt.  I found that this works best if the shirt is a thinner cotton as it soaks up the vinegar better. I chose a shirt that was from the hard rock hotel because it looks like the vintage shirts that pacsun is currently selling, in my opinion.

2. Mix a solution. Next, you are going to mix 1/2 cup of vinegar with 4 cups of water and place mixture in a large container.

3. Submerge shirt in mixture. I placed my shirt in the mixture and left it in the mixture for ten minutes. I flipped the shirt after five minutes to make sure that the mixture was absorbed in all of the shirt.

3. Wash and Air Dry I recommend washing the shirt by itself and then air drying to prevent the vinegar from getting into other clothes in the wash. Air drying prevents the shirt from becoming scratchy after the vinegar process.

4. Rock it! My favorite way to where a vintage shirt is by tucking it into a pair of high-waisted shorts in the summer and in the winter I like to tuck it into a pair of high-waisted pants and then top with a cute cardigan. To finish off the look wear a pair of white chucks!
